We often recommend Majestic Resorts for weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, group trips, and family vacations. They’ve been well established in the Dominican Republic for almost 15 years and in 2019 they opened a new resort in Costa Mujeres, Mexico.
Let’s learn from all the information given by Ana Laura Alvarez, BDM for Majestic Resorts, who joined us for Travel Talk Thursday with Travel Time and shared some details about the superb Majestic Resorts experience. Scroll to the bottom of the article to watch the interview in full.
A heavenly spot in the Caribbean
Majestic Resorts have four properties in total. Three of them in the Dominican Republic in Bávaro Beach, just 25 minutes away from the Punta Cana International Airport:
- Majestic Colonial
- Majestic Elegance
- Majestic Mirage
In 2019 they opened their first hotel in Cancun, Mexico, which is called Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres.
The hotels are medium-sized so there’s no need to walk long distances to go to the beach, the lobby is about five minutes away from the beach and there are enough amenities available to guests while maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.
The three resorts in Punta Cana are all next to each other but it’s important to remember that there aren’t full exchange privileges. Each of the resorts has sections that are more oriented for families as well as Club sections that are more oriented for adults.
It’s important to clarify that at Elegance and Mirage they do accept children but the section for families is smaller. At Majestic Colonial there are more sections for families and the only areas that are shared are the kids club, a sports bar, a convention center, the casino, and the courts like the tennis court, the basketball court, and so on.
They have family sections and adults-only 18+ clubs. Just to give you a little bit of information about what the adult club sections offer, you can expect a:
- private pool
- private beach area
- private restaurant
- check-in and check-out in a different area
- Butler service is included during the client’s stay
One of the favourite categories among our clients is the Elegance Club Plunge Pool Suite at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. It’s a two-story room so in the main room you’ll find the bed, the bathroom, a Jacuzzi and a little terrace; there’s a staircase to go up to the second level and then outdoors you have patio furniture and an amazing pool featuring an ocean view with a garden and the pool.
In this room category, when guests arrive in the room there’s a bottle of sparkling wine, an aromatherapy menu, and a pillow menu. They will receive a menu with the different beverage brands and they can pick the one that they like instead of having mini bottles of different beverages that they perhaps don’t like as much.
These resorts are created to cater to clients that want to experience a wellness vacation. They have a spa with pools, the hydrotherapy circuit and then they have an area that’s like a man-made cenote, creating a real relaxation spot.
In all the resorts sections, as everything is included, they provide guests with food and beverages. They also take in mind any special dietary needs of the guests, such as:
- a gluten-free menu
- a vegetarian menu
- a vegan menu
- any allergies that a client may have
For any type of special dietary needs, guests can just let the staff know and the guests will have a special food concierge that will take care of them during their stay.
As for entertainment on the resort, golf is included for the clients that are staying at the properties in the Dominican Republic. If there is a client that wants to experience a magnificent golf vacation they can go to the Majestic Mirage since the green fees are unlimited.
Romantic weddings
All of the hotels offer several locations to choose from to make your special day a memorable one. You can opt for the Wedding Garden Gazebo or the Beach Gazebo that are offered in each hotel, and also our onsite Chapel (only in the Dominican Republic).
The newest addition to their wedding portfolio is the Sky Wedding Gazebo in Mexico. It’s ideal for clients that don’t like the feeling of being in the sand so they opt for this wedding venue because it’s a wood deck with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea.
Majestic Resorts are preferred for weddings because you can have groups with different types of people: people with kids, with no kids, and singles. Perhaps some people who attend the wedding would prefer to stay somewhere without kids, so they can choose an adult-only part of the resort. The Majestic properties provide this kind of flexibility.
Sometimes it’s kind of a tough decision for the bride and the groom if there are people in the wedding party who have kids and they are traveling with them. In this case, they need a family-friendly property, and this makes Majestic Resorts the perfect destination.
Since they’re right next to each other, the club section and the family section are separated by a walk of less than five minutes. The families can be in a family resort with all the amenities and great service. However, if there are couples that want the upgraded club section with adults only, for an adult-only pool area, and much more, they can have that as well.
There is a fabulous deal that Majestic Resorts offer for weddings and brides & grooms can qualify for it for free – the package is complementary when the group books 15 rooms or more for a minimum of 7-night stay or 105 room nights.
This package includes:
- the services of a civil magistrate or priest
- a massage for both bride and groom,
- the flowers, and
- the boutonniere
At the Dominican Republic Majestic Resorts properties, the bride and the groom get a bracelet that allows them to experience any of their hotels for the next day or two.
In case they want something specific for their decor to add, there’s a booklet with prices and they can just add on instead of having to find a specific package, increasing the flexibility of what’s offered at the Majestic Resorts. The wedding team is phenomenal, the brides have lots of great feedback for the different wedding coordinators that they have on the property and the ability to be able to work out all the details.
Safety and enjoyment as it best
About the safety measures that have been implemented at Majestic Resorts, we must say they are enhancing their protocols to suit an increased level of caution during the pandemic, although they’ve always delivered exceptional quality as a top priority.
New procedures include:
- Staff wearing masks
- Contactless check-in and check out available
- Two meters’ distance between restaurants’ furniture
- Visual menu at the entrance of restaurants
- Downloadable menu
- Total disinfection of all areas
- Constant temperature checking
- Hand sanitizing stations
All of the clients staying at Majestic Resorts will have a complimentary insurance during their stay with them. This policy covers the doctor, ambulance, and emergency transfer to the hospital, as well as the extension of stay for medical reasons. It’s valid from September 20, 2020, to April 30, 2021.
While they are taking every precaution to decrease the transmission of the virus on their properties, their goal with this additional insurance coverage is for guests to be safe and just enjoy their vacation without worrying about any risks associated with the pandemic.
